Located in the Artist Residence in Brighton’s Regency square, the Cocktail Shack offers an extensive list of inventive and novel cocktails. The blockbuster film-themed drinks menu will keep your sense of fun entertained and your thirst quenched.
The venue is small and cosy and the bar isn’t huge but don’t let that put you off.

The fantastic view from the window seat
The vast and exciting menu
Every single drink is a well thought out work of art
Because the drinks are so intricate the service can be a little slow
The drinks aren’t cheap
We have visited this cosy venue on more than one occasion. It’s a great pit stop before a meal next door at The Set restaurant and it’s also a lovely way to start or finish off an evening in Brighton.
Every time we’ve visited the selection of drinks has been fantastic and elaborate. There is nothing boring on the menu. From drinks laced with smouldering cinnamon bark to tropical banana-based drinks served in a bamboo leaf-wrapped glass, the drinks all feel very special. I’m not sure you’d want more than one or two though.
The staff are happy to recommend what to try and, if you’re feeling brave, you can just ask them to surprise you. The casta-wray is a personal favourite – rum, banana, guava and lime – and it’s a dangerous one as it doesn’t taste particularly boozy. The Big Lebrewski is also good fun – rum, lime, benedictine, egg white, and ale served in a beer tankard with a shot of white Russian on the side.
Overall verdict and rating: 9/10
Cost of drinks: Cocktails are priced at around £8.50-£9.50
